The Philippine Embassy in Oslo conducted a Consular Outreach Service and Overseas Voting Registration in Helsinki during the weekend of 21-22 February.
The two-day outreach served over 230 Filipinos living in various parts of Finland, providing e-Passport processing, civil registry reporting, and general consular assistance. In addition, the consular team also facilitated several dual-citizenship applications, including the administration of the necessary Oath of Allegiance.
Filipinos from all over Finland, including from Espoo and far away cities like Vaasa and Oulu, gathered in Helsinki to take advantage of the mobile consular services.
The team also managed to register 95 new overseas voters who will be able to vote in the upcoming 2016 National Elections in the Philippines.
Since the closure of the Philippine Embassy in Helsinki in 2012, the Philippine Embassy in Oslo has exercised jurisdiction over bilateral and consular affairs in Finland.
